Ride & Skid It 20th October 18

Riders, Sliders & Skiders - 20th October 2018


I was a bit apprehensive about the weather before I started out for Buxton for the last Ride & Skid It Speedway Experience day of the season. When I arrived however there was none of the mist that was forecast and although it was a bit dull in the morning, there was glorious sun in the afternoon and no wind either; yippee!

I think it was a full house for the team with nineteen riders including a few returners who I can see have improved amazingly since I first saw them.

Neil Collins also gave a display of some exhibition riding throughout the day, so an excellent day all round really.

Morning Session

Just a few from session one, when everyone are generally going pretty slow and familiarising themselves with the bikes and the track.








Not wallpapering over the cracks, just taping coloured plastic to the helmets to identify who are the novice riders!





Session 2 when the riders are split into groups to learn the technique of sliding, easier said than done!
